Army Hospital Car Exhibit
In a completely restored WWII Army hospital railcar, Ruocchio Designs told the story of its restoration, its rich history and the history of all hospital railcars. To prevent a claustrophobic feeling and to take advantage of the natural light from its location, we opted for printed glass mounted on stainless steel in front of WWII stretchers. To protect the historical integrity of the car, all components were set in place with new bolts or fasteners. Everything was weighed down with concrete bases covered in bed liner. The glass on the right of the car has 40% opacity prints of the soldiers lying in their beds.
